Hi everyone! It's the year of 1810 and I'm surrounded by green fields
and trees as far as I can see. I have food in abundance with friends
everywhere. We are all enjoying the sunshine and the morning dew on the grass,
playing all day with nobody, except my natural predators to worry
about. 1870 doesn't seem to be a good time; the southern-most end of the
valley is full of building, smoke, lots of noise and people. Most of us are
moving north up into what's left of our mountain-side. Those of us staying
below are now living amongst wood stacks and a few small areas of unused grassland.
The search for food is hard, competition high and predators many, still it must
improve soon?. With the arrival of the 1930's, our homes are now engulfed by
a huge black mountain, and other valleys North, East and West are all the same.
Very little food, very few friends, can we, will we survive? Hey gang its
1990; look! green fields, lakes and young trees and bushes growing everywhere.
Little noise, smoke or the presence of the working industry. Our population is
growing, and other species are moving back into the valley. The morning dew once again rests on the green fields and bushes, food
and habitats in abundance. "Its great living here". Roger
