My grandfather, William Jelly, is on the left of the back row with the bassoon. I am not sure what the band/orchestra is but assume
that is was based somewhere in Blaina.

This is a photo of my
grandmother - Margaret Jelly (nee Evans) taken around the turn
of the 20th century.

Over the
past couple of years I have been tracing my family history on my
father's side of the family. They originated in Somerset but
moved
to Blaina in the mid 19th century. My grandfather and grandmother
were William and Margaret Jelly and they are seen in this
picture
with my father - also named William. I am not sure if this is
Alexander Street or Abertillery Street, Blaina as they lived in
both.
