Things to do and places to visit.

There is a regular Bus service nearby which will take you to Abertillery town and all the local shops. Alternatively you could take a
leisurely Fifteen minutes walk and return by bus. While there call in and visit the Abertillery and District Museum:- located in
Market Street Abertillery - it is full of history and heritage of the Abertillery District.
There are plenty of walks within the valley and the Lodge is only five minutes away from the delightful Cwmtillery Lakes
and its abundance of wildfowl. You could continue up the valley with both
the Mynydd James and Coity Mountains on the
Western and Eastern sides until you reach the second lake in the valley, the Cwmtillery Reservoir and the river Tyleri.

Outside the valley

If you have transport you may wish to visit the Big Pit Mining Museum (Twenty minutes away) one of the UK's leading tourist
attractions. Big Pit is now part of the family of National Museums & Galleries of Wales, the Big Pit is a real colliery.
Also The Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway (Twenty minutes away) started in 1981, and is operated exclusively by volunteers.
The market town of Abergavenny
(Twenty Five minutes away) is also worth a visit.
This ancient and welcoming town is surrounded by the
Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains and, nestling in the famous Usk Valley, is full of historic, architectural, cultural and scenic interest.
